Meet Kate

Hi! I’m Kate, a WPIC-certified wedding coordinator and lover of sparkles, craft beer, and oxford commas.

I grew up in the GTA and recently moved to Hamilton to surround myself with all things art, food, coffee — all things fun basically!

I first developed my passion for weddings at the age of 13, watching my mom and stepdad walk down the aisle. I helped my mom with every detail of the wedding and had a blast doing it. Ever since I’ve dreamt of making dreams come true by helping couples with the most important day of their lives.

Being someone who is creative, detail-oriented, and organized (I like to think of myself as a Pheobe-Monica hybrid — sorry Rachel), the wedding industry is right where I belong. I can’t wait to bring originality, personality, and pizzazz to every aspect of your wedding.

1. What does ‘WPIC-certified’ mean?

WPIC is the Wedding Planners Institute of Canada, the only institute in Canada that certifies wedding coordinators. WPIC alumni are held to a high standards — especially ethically. We’re taught the ins and outs of the industry, while learning to abide by a steadfast code of ethics.

If anyone is found to be operating unethically or undercutting the industry, their certification will be stripped away. We are always held accountable and are constantly learning from fellow alumni.

2. Why should I hire a wedding coordinator?

Your wedding day will be the most incredible day of your life — but it could also be the most stressful.

Many brides and grooms find themselves constantly stressed over the planning process (preparing a guest list alone makes some couples break into a sweat), not to mention the actual wedding day. Between ensuring your vendors have arrived, to having guests run to them if their place setting is missing, the couple barely has time to enjoy themselves.

This is where a wedding coordinator comes in. We’re there in every aspect you need us, from planning to running the show on the big day.

Rather than making hundreds of phone calls and sending countless emails over the course of the year before your wedding, you can simply enjoy being engaged and focus on you and your partner. Even better, when your wedding day comes, you won’t have to worry about a thing — you can just relax, eat, and enjoy the party!

3. What kinds of weddings do you do?

All kinds! Big, small, budget, green/eco-friendly, LGBTQ, indoor, outdoor, any and all religions, or no religion in particular.

4. What do you charge for an initial meeting?

Nothing! Initial meetings are complimentary. They’re an opportunity for us to get to know each other and figure out if we mesh well.

We’ll meet at a coffee shop (or other cool meeting spot) and discuss you and your partner, your wedding, my experience, and probably dogs. It’s no obligation and it’s certainly not a sales pitch!
