Hello there! My name is Kate and I’m a certified wedding coordinator. I’m so thrilled to be launching my business and helping dreams become reality!
First thing’s first, there are a few things you need to know about me:
- I’m a proud dog mom to Sawyer, a three-month-old cockapoo.
- I worked at (and eventually ran) my university’s newspaper for five years, during which time I did photography, design, and covered news.
- I have my first-degree black belt in taekwondo, which I received when I was 13.
So now you know all about me. I promise that wasn’t a two truths and a lie situation — three was just a good number of fun facts while still leaving an air of mystery…
Anyways. On to the nitty-gritty.
When I tell people I’m a wedding coordinator, the first question I get is “how did you get into that?” It’s a truly unique career path that, to be honest, I wouldn’t have even thought of a few years ago.
I was raised by a single mom, who then got remarried to my wonderful step-dad when I was 13. I was absolutely thrilled to help her plan her wedding, and even put together a planning binder (binder nerds unite!) and went to every vendor meeting with her.
I was in love with the whole process, and adored the concept of a wedding — two people coming together to celebrate their love, having a blast with their closest friends and family.
I’ve gone through many phases in my life (Avril Lavigne ties, listening to screamo, playing The Sims for hours on end), but loving weddings was never one of them. I always knew it wasn’t a passing phase — weddings are my passion.
And if I know one thing, it’s that if you’re lucky enough to find your passion, it’s stupid not to follow it. So here I am, following mine.
